I spent 4 hours or so yesterday with the new HD300. It's bitchin. Definitely a big step forward, and I have owned just about everything Line6 has done (M13, M9, all three Flextones, Vetta I & II, Amp Farm, POD, POD2, PODX3, JTV-69...) I don't own an Axe-FX, but DO have experience with one so my comparisons are not 100% accurate and therefore I can't quantify like most forumites would like me to... "well, hurumph-harumph, I think the HD is 87% as good as the Axe-FX in terms of strength to weight ratio, especially when you factor in the dual overhead cam... harumph-harumph..."
But it's bitchin. I don't know pricing, release dates, or exact dimensions. But we plugged multiple guitars in, and spent HOURS demoing and discussing the models. We also compared it to some good boutique amps. It was good times and I WILL be buying one. How's that for zero useful information?
When listening to a few of the models on the HD I was thinking, "holy crap, that could totally be my amp". The dynamics when we rolled volume down were amazing, the give and the push of the front end were very natural. It was inspiring. We even kinda laughed that we had been sitting around a ProTools HD console for over 4 hours and we were still kinda geeking out on the sounds.
