Das ist der auch der Grund, warum ich meinen Amp(s) behalten hab!
Man sollte sich auf sowas nie 1000% verlassen
Auf was seid ihr beiden den genau umgestiegen ?

Nicht umgestiegen. Mein altes Setup (Elmwood M60, G-Major, ein paar Treter und mein Torpedo VB101) steht ja unverändert da und kommt am Samstag wieder zum Einsatz. Der KPA bleibt vorerst. Vielleicht entscheide ich mich wieder um.

Ich hab meinen Überschall auch noch und schätze es sehr mich zwischen beiden Setups entscheiden zu können . Es hat halt alles seine Vor- und Nachteile, aber ich habe den Kauf des Kemper bisher auf gar keinen Fall bereut.

Also was das angeht weiß ich zumindest für mich, dass ich nicht mehr auf Röhre umsteigen werde. Der einzige Reiz m.M. nach wäre das Hosenbein-Flatter-Feeling. Aber dem ziehe ich die Kompaktheit und die Möglichkeit, auuch bei geringer Lautstärke oder Kopfhörer einen geilenSound zu haben, vor.
Der einzige Umstieg wird vielleicht irgendwann zum KPA 2 sein, sollte der irgendwann kommen.

Jetzt wird in den nächsten 2 Wochen erstmal mein ganzes Equipment etwas zusammengefasst und verkleinert und dann sehen wir weiter^^

Edit: Ich suche immer noch nach jemanden, der gerne seine Rack-Version gegen meine Head-Version tauschen mag

So, nach nun nahezu 9 Monaten Erfahrung mit dem Kemper und auch einigen Zweifeln kann ich folgendes Zwischenfazit ziehen:

Tatsächlich hatte ich in der ersten Euphorie kurzzeitig den Verkauf meines Amps mit Box in Erwägung gezogen, als ich den Kemper gekauft habe, aber mittlerweile ist das keine Option mehr. Ja, der Kemper funktioniert auch im Proberaum und im Bandkontext über eine normale Endstufe mit sehr neutraler Box, aber trotzdem bleibt er im direkten Vergleich/Zusammenspiel mit jedem der beiden Amps im Raum (Mesa Stiletto Ace & VH4) auf der Strecke. Das mag ggf. an der Signalkette und suboptimalen Komponenten (Endstufe ubd Box) liegen, und der Unterschied ist auch nicht weltbewegend, aber er ist da und rechtfertigt das unbedingte Festhalten an Amp mit Box. Ok, mag auch daran liegen, dass ich meinen VH4 einfach liebe...

Vermutlich heben sich aber solche Unterschiede wieder auf, wenn alle Beteiligten über einen Kemper (ggf. Axe Fx, Amp über Torpedo etc.) spielen würden - und von aussen (Puplikum beim Gig) wird man den Unterschied kaum feststellen können, da der originäre Sound sowieso durch die PA "gepresst" und verändert wird. Je nach Akustik und FOH (und seine Fähigkeiten!) kann eine digitale, direkt in die PA gehende Lösung vielleicht sogar besser sein.

Zu Hause jedoch möchte ich auf den Kemper nicht verzichten - sowohl um leise zu spielen, als auch für Aufnahmen gibt es im Grunde kaum eine einfachere und bessere Lösung. Aber es bleibt immer ein Kompromiss - ich mag einige wenige meiner alten Aufnahmen über den Mark V und Iso-Box schon lieber, weil sie in meinen Ohren einfach ein Quentchen organischer klingen (das waren aber dann auch "Lucky Shots") - aber ich bekomme sehr ähnliche Ergebnisse ohne grossen Aufwand und zu jeder Tages- und Nachtzeit auch mit dem Kemper hin...(auch eine Isobox ist für nachtschlafende Zeit bei Aufnahmelautstärke ist nicht wirklich leise). Und eines ist mal klar - eine Aufnahme über den Kemper mit gutem Profil ist allemal besser als eine mittelmässige Aufnahme über Amp und Cab in suboptimaler Umgebung und fehlender Kenntnis von perfekter Mikrofonierung - und das trifft definitiv auf mich und vermutlich 98,8576 % von uns Guitarerros zu... (nein, und es steht nicht im Widerspruch zu meiner obigen Aussage...)

Also, der Kemper bleibt und ich bin gespannt, wann und wie die offenen Baustellen (Editor, File-Management, Undo/Redo, Controller) durch die Firma Kemper geschlossen werden. Die bisherige Entwicklung (Performance Mode etc. ) lassen mich wirklich optimistisch in die Zukunft sehen.

Hätte ich die finanziellen Mittel, würde ich wahrscheinlich auch trotz Kemper noch einen Röhrenamp dazu besitzen.

Die habe ich allerdings nicht und so musste ich mich entscheiden ... bisher nutzte ich ein Engl-Rack mit 2x12" V30er Box. Zwar zufriedenstellend, aber da ist mir der Kemper dann doch lieber, weil es bei mir nunmal eine entweder-oder-Entscheidung war.

Vielleicht kommt ja irgendwann nochmal ein rückenkillender Röhrenamp, aber bis dahin bin ich seehr glücklich mit dem Kemper.

Im März wird der erste Auftritt damit anstehen - ich bin sehr gespannt auf den Sound nach vorne.


Ansonsten wäre mir bisher auch ein Kemper Editor am liebsten. Würde gerne meine Profile/Rigs mal etwas besser organisieren. Ansonsten fände ich ja immer noch eine Dual-Amp-Option super ... da weiß ich aber nicht, ob der Kemper das CPU-technisch schafft. Und ob die sich das nicht vllt sogar für einen Nachfolger aufheben. Da ich nicht so die Verfügbarkeit von Amps, Mikros und Erfahrung habe, kann ich mir da nun nicht so leicht selbst Misch-Profile machen. Bzw.: hat das schon jemand gemacht und gute Ergebnisse erzielt?

Und hat der Tubescreamer im Kemper eigentlich immer noch den Bug, dass der Tone-Regler auf Mittelstellung schon der Maximalstellung am Screamer selber entspricht?

ich habe schon mehrfach Mischprofile erstellt, aber hatte jedesmal zumindest leichte Verluste durch Phasenverschiebung - da unterschiedliche Mikros auch unterschiedliche Frequenzverläufe haben, konnte auch der Test mit möglichst maximaler Auslöschung bei Phasenumkehr nur im Annäherungsverfahren funktionieren und zufrieden war ich damit am Ende das Tages nicht. ABER - wer kann, der kann - Lasse zum Beispiel macht hervorragende Mischprofile...

Ich habe nur Erfahrung mit "The Amp Factory" gemacht (3 Profile bisher da gekauft) und ich bin sehr sehr zufrieden damit! Hab jeweils 4,99 Pfund bezahlt und ich finde das für das was man bekommt echt gut.

Ansonsten einfach mal im Rig-Exchange auf der Kemper-Page nachschauen. Da gibt's jede Menge Profiles mit schöner Sterne-Wertung und Suchfunktion. Da kannst du dich bedienen und schauen ob da was für dich bei ist.

Und ich merke gerade noch mehr, wie sehr ein USB-Editor nützlich wäre - gerade neue Profile gekauft und nun finde ich meinen USB-Stick nicht. Der einzige, den ich habe (was eine Schande als Informatiker...)

This is a feature dedicated for electric bass, can be utilized with any other instrument as well, of course. The Profiler offers a variety of profiles for bass players already, as well as loads of effects and distortion FX that can be used in combination with a bass. But, just like with traditional bass rigs when playing through a distorting amplifier or a distortion pedal, the bass can loose some fundamental bass frequencies. That's why a parallel feed of the clean bass signal usually is mixed in parallel to the distorted or otherwise processed signal for maintaining the bass frequencies and the original dynamics.
The Profiler now features an optional parallel signal path from the instrument input straight to the output for exactly this purpose, bypassing the Stack section and all effects including the delay and reverb. When the parallel path is activated, it also grabs Stomp A and B away from the regular signal path and puts both into the parallel path. This provides Stomp A and B for applying a compressor and an equalizer individually to the parallel path, while Stomp C and D and the effects remain in the regular signal path. This is great for both live and recording situations.

Reine Tag Fähigkeiten scheint er wohl zu haben, was aus dem Satz "Tag rigs individually and in groups" zu schließen wäre.

Den parallelen Signalweg finde ich als Entwicklung klasse. Damit sollte der Kemper für Bass - Live - Anwendungen richtig interessant werden.

Das ist richtig. Taggen kann man damit, aber keine Paramter der Rigs verändern, was mich persönlich nicht stört. Das beste Feature ist aber eindeutig die Preview Funktion. Man kann damit sämtliche lokalen Rigs und auch alle Rigs vom Rig Exchange direkt testen, ohne sie umständlich über USB Stick auszutauschen. Man kann sich so sehr schnell durch grosse Mengen an Rigs testen und stösst dabei doch auf viele "Perlen", die man gar nicht beachtet hatte. Besser gehts kaum...

Analog Octaver - Not only for bass players' delight
The analog octaver is a classic effect usually used by bass players. But of course it can be utilized for any instrument. The analog octaver adds two lower octaves (-1 and -2) to the original signal. This is achieved with a modeled analog detection circuit which manipulates and filters the input signal. The Analog Octaver should be used for single notes only as intervals or chords might create unstable results.
The Kemper Profiler octaver model features significantly improved tracking for faster response compared to the original devices. The LowCut parameter finally reduces the energy of the low notes. This allows for higher levels of both low octave voices without having to deal with deep growl and rumble produced.

NSA for Tempo - Beat Scanner
The Beat Scanner is a great alternative to using the TAP tempo. The activated Beat Scanner algorithm will listen to the rhythm of the guitar and detect the accurate tempo in BPM in a few seconds. It is not required to play anything special, any riff should do if played with certain accuracy. Beat Scanner allows for creating tempos between 80 and 160 BPM. The Beat Scanner won't detect whether the tempo is 70 BPM or double - 140 BPM. It will choose 140 in this case.

Headphone Space
The Headphone Space parameter adds a small room simulation to the master signal. When listening to sound coming from loudspeakers the reflections from the floor, the walls and objects around add to the original sound. Even a mono signal will result in a stereo image once the room reflections reach the ears. When listening through headphones these missing reflections result in an artificial listening experience that quickly leads to listening fatigue. To avoid this, the Profiler now features the Headphone Space effect allowing to add virtual reflections to the headphone signal delivering a sense of room and natural space. Even a mono signal will result into a subtle, pleasing stereo image.
Hard wired to the Profiler's headphone out the space effect can also be utilized for listening through regular speakers or for recording. For this purpose the space effect is also available for the post stack effects slots.

Pedal Vinyl Stop
Vinyl Stop is a variation of the already available Pedal Pitch effect. While Pedal Pitch can create a "dive bomb" effect three octaves down, Pedal Vinyl Stop will turn the pitch of the instrument down to exactly zero by swelling up the pitch pedal, just as you would stop a vinyl record with your hand. No sound is heard, until you swell the pitch pedal down again, making the instrument sound as the motor has turned back on again. No pitch adjustments available or necessary with this effect, just put the pitch pedal to the metal.

Reamping - everything built in to run High and Dry
The method of Reamping is very popular in studios and means recording the unprocessed instrument signal while recording the processed amp signal at the same time on separate tracks. This allows for feeding the unprocessed guitar signal at a later time to an amp again to experiments with various settings that might cater for a better mix without the need to play the guitar a second time. Usually some special equipment is required to convert the high impedance guitar signal into an appropriate signal at studio level for recording. The opposite "reamping" path from the recording to the tube amp needs appropriate processing as well. In case of the Profiler this is much more straightforward and easy as the connections and impedances of the Profiler already deliver all the required connectivity for reamping right out of the box. Both recording the pure instrument signal and reamping can be performed either via the analog outputs and inputs or the SPDIF connections.
