Sepultura (Band-Diskussion)

Sepultura haben auch für mich nicht mehr so eine Bedeutung wie zu Max Zeiten. Derrick kann Max nie einholen oder gar überholen. Aber Sepultura ist auch nicht so mein Ding, also ich werd mal in das Lied hören, aber die CD mir nur holen, wenn das Lied wirklich überragend ist.

Ganz meine Meinung !!!

Also, heute war ja Erscheinungstermin von Dante XXI; habs mir natürlich (als absoluter Fan) direkt zugelegt und Resultat:

Mit Nation oder Against kaum zu vergleichen; mit Roorback vielleicht so gerade noch: Es knallt wie Sau!!! Wärmstens zu empfehlen!

Ist zwar n bissl kurz (35 Min.), aber anscheinend wurde die gesamte Härte schlichtweg komprimiert....

Absolute Kaufempfehlung!!!

Hab sie nun auch schon länger, die CD. Ich muss sagen, nach dem Roorback-Ausrutscher ist das für mich ein gelungener "Neuanfang", wenn man so sagen darf. Ich finde, sie ähnelt ein Bisschen der "Nation" vom Aufbau her, einige brachiale Songs in schnellem Tempo und einige fast schon balladenartige Lieder, eine geile Mischung! Zudem finde ich es gut, dass sie wieder ein Cello mit eingebracht haben und somit für Abwechslung sorgen.
Das Drumming von Igor hat sich deutlich verbessert, die Gitarren sind gewohnt gut (harte Riffs, schnelle Soli) und teilweise finde ich, kann man Derrick Greens Gesang schon ein bisschen mit Max altem Gebrülle vergleichen.
Ein deutlicher Fortschritt für mich!

Nunja Roorback als Ausrutscher zu bezeichnen finde ich ein bisschen heftig. Aber dem Album fehlte irgendwie das gewisse etwas, das stimmt schon.

Ob man das Shouting von Derrick mit dem von Max vergleichen kann (und sollte) sei auch mal dahin gestellt. Jedoch gebe ich dir im Punkt musikalischer Qualität (Gitarren, Drums und auch die Vocals) absolut Recht.

Dante XXI lässt nicht unbegründet auf weitere Kracher der Brasilianer hoffen.

Kannte vorher zwar nur einige Lieder von Sepultura, Dante XXI finde ich aber ziemlich genial! Freu mich schon, sie als Vorband von In Flames zu sehen!

ich find dante xxi das beste seit roots - einfach genial!
PS: war schon jemand bei sepultura und in flames?? War letzten So in Berlin - sepultura warn absolut goettlich (hab sie zum 5. mal gesehen) und in flames fand ich soundtechnisch grausamst - die gitarren viel zu laut - dadurch undifferenziert (hab kein einziges solo gehoert), die keys vom band genauso (sobald die da warn war drumsound im eimer) und der saenger war auch kaum zu hoeren ausser bei den doofen arroganten ansagen...
Wuerd mich interessieren ob das bei anderen gigs auch so war!
haett ich tatsaechlich 27 Euronen dafuer abgedrueckt haett ich mich ziemlich ueber in flames geaergert! Klarer sieger: sepultura (selbst fuer den die-hard-in-flames-fan mit dem ich da war...).

Hui, da mag aber jemand In Flames richtig gerne....

Ne also ich mus sagen, Sepultura hat gut Power gebracht (in Köln), wobei ich In Flames auch net übel fnd. Ich kannte zwar kaum (eigentlich nix) von denen, aber Sound war ok und die Bühnenshow fand ich ganz cool. So mit viel Blink- und Blitzlicht und Pyro-Kram.

wird auf der tour vertreten durch sonen brasilianischen hopper...kleines zitat:

One of the founders of the Brazilian biggest heavy metal band, Iggor Cavalera, announces that he is leaving Sepultura. Cavalera, drummer and musician claims outworn and incompatibility of thoughts with the remaining band members, and signalizes new projects.

“A lot of reasons made me take this important decision in my life and I would like to share it with everybody. I believe my mission in Sepultura has come to an end. I am very proud of all we have done, but nowadays I feel that the band formation no longer lives up to my expectations. Since my last European tour in 2004, I have noticed that my ideas didn’t match with the others.”, asserts Iggor.

Since 1985, Sepultura has putted out ten world wide releases (“Bestial Devastation”, 1985; “Morbid Visions”, 1986; “Schizophrenia”, 1987; “Beneath the Remains”, 1989; “Arise”, 1991; “Roots”, 1996; “Against”, 1998; “Nation”, 2001 “Roorback”, 2003 e Dante XXI, 2006), that sold millions of copies. The band reached it’s peak in 1996, with the release of the album “Roots” which represented a musical swerve in the heavy metal scene, introducing new experiences as tribal percussions and the work with the Brazilian Indian tribe, Xavantes. However, after the album release and the world tour of “Roots”, guitarist, singer and Iggor’s brother, Max Cavalera, left the band to continue his solo career. Sepultura continued their works and success with a new singer, Derrick Green.

Apart from touring since 2005, when he was substituted by Roy Mayorga, Iggor noticed that his personal ambitions where worlds apart from the rest of the band and slightly detached from the creative process of Sepultura. “Many years of work in group, made the relationship get outworn and I feel that there isn’t compatibility of thoughts and ideas between the rest of the band and me. I tried to make this clear and suggested that we should take a break. However their priority was to continue playing in despite of my permanence”, says Iggor.

As a drummer and musician, Iggor persists and look forward to new references to produce something authentic and real, which may represent what Sepultura was once in his life. Lately the musician researches a contemporary view of the heavy metal scene, looking for different influences such as hip hop, hardcore, tribal percussions and electronic music. According to Iggor, the decision of leaving Sepultura was one of the most difficult in his career, once that, as founder of the band, he dedicated most of his life to it.

“I would like to immeasurably thank all of the fans which supported me and continue encouraging our music. And also to everyone who had worked to make Sepultura exist.”

Ich hab sie sowieso nicht mehr gemocht nachdem Max raus ist.Roorback fand ich schlecht,und der Green kann net ansatzweise so gut singen wie Max.
