NAME: Quinn Sullivan
AGE: 7
RESIDENCE: New Bedford
OCCUPATION: Student/musician
WHAT HE'S LISTENING TO: The Beatles, Elton John, Los Lonely Boys, Eric Clapton, B.B. King
Quinn Sullivan is getting an early start and has already had a more successful music career than most guitar players. He's played on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and recently performed at the WZLX Beatles Christmas Party at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston.
"It felt good," Quinn says of the performance. "It's a bar and I'm not used to playing in a bar. There was over 150 people there."
The influence of his father Terry, a drummer in the cover band Pearly Baker, is obvious.
"I want to be in a Beatles tribute band when I grow up," Quinn said. "And of course, be a rock star."
Beatles, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," "White Album": "I like the synthesizers they use," Quinn said. "And the first part of 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.' The 'White Album''s got a lot of rocking songs. I like the cover, how it's all white. My favorite song is 'Dear Prudence'."
Los Lonely Boys, "Los Lonely Boys": "They're a good band. I got to meet them. 'Heaven' is my favorite song because I can play it on my guitar. It is an inspiring song."
Elton John, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road": "That's a good one. I like all the songs from 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.' I listen to it all the time." Quinn said he can't play the songs on Sir Elton's masterpiece, but can pick up what they're doing.
Eric Clapton, "Crossroads Concert": The Sullivans will pop in the DVD of Clapton's performance in Antigua on the occasional rainy day and Quinn will play along. "It's good," Quinn said. "I like Eric Clapton when they play 'White Room.' I like all the blues guys on 'Crossroads.' "
