Hi,
so, ich poste auch mal wieder einen Text und würde mich über jegliche Kritik, Anregung oder Interpretation freuen.
Mille Grazie!
New York City
From the safety of my hometown Im watching the city
An ocean of lights in the distance
And the cynics might say that its all an illusion
And Ive always been one of their kind
But now things have changed, cause the city Ive despised
Is softly calling my name
So I put all my longings into a bag on my back
And I dare to pass through the gates
Down by the harbour
In a bar at the docks
Where the streetlights enlightened the haze
You offered me chances
You offered me changes
New York City Ive seen your face
I walk down the main street, take a cab to the park
One deep breath and jump into the rush
With the eyes of a stranger and the trust of a child
I open up to let you inside
And down in the subway, far beneath your surface
Ive finally forgotten my bag
And you ask me to stay and you ask me to leave
You ask me to always be there
Down by the harbour
In a bar at the docks
Where the streetlights enlightened the haze
You offered me chances
You offered me changes
New York City Ive seen your face
Just a cute story, bout my day in the city
Just written to unload my mind
And everythings fine and nothings alright
When Im on my way back to town
Down by the harbour
In a bar at the docks
Where the streetlights enlightened the haze
You offered me chances
You offered me changes
New York City Ive seen your face
From the safety of my hometown Im watching the city
It still seems to be so far away
With a smile on my face and with tears in my eyes
I turn my back and you kiss me goodbye
Down by the harbour
In a bar at the docks
Where the streetlights enlightened the haze
You offered me chances
You offered me changes
New York City Ive seen your face
Down by the harbour
In a bar at the docks
The faces all stay the same
You offered me chances
You offered me changes
I still hear you calling my name
