Hallöchen,

da ein solcher hier noch nicht existent ist und ich denke, das auch die Epi V´s einen eigenen Faden verdient haben, eröffne ich diesen mal hiermit.
Es gibt sicher einige User, die oben genannte (oder mehrere) ihr eigen nennen und diese hoffentlich hier gern ausführlich vorstellen?!
Vielleicht gibt es auch jemanden, der die Modellhistorie mal etwas detailreicher wiedergeben kann.

Ich bin seit einigen Tagen auch Eigner einer schwarz-goldenen Schönheit aus dem Jahr 2010, phantastische Gitarre:

The Flying-V was introduced as a mainstay for Epiphone in 1986 when Henry Juszkiewicz, David Berryman and Gary Zebrowski acquired the Epiphone and Gibson guitar companies. There were two short-lived versions of the Flying-V produced in 1983 and 1985; The Model 1140 and the 1985 Flying-V. The only Epiphone Flying-V currently being produced is the Korina model and the Jeff Waters Annihilation-V.

Ja Epi-Wiki ist ja schon eine Weile off.

Auch nach einer Woche macht diese V immer noch Laune... Spaß in den Backen, und dass als absoluter Stratnerd! Die Stratocaster... meine Religion! Ich habe, bis auf wenige Ausnahmen, eigentlich selten etwas anderes gespielt. Vor ca. einer halben Millionen Jahren hatte ich mal ein Scorps-Poster in meinem damaligen Zimmer, R. Schenker live mit der weiß-schwarzen V... damals unerreichbar.

Hatte vor kurzem auf Grund des Wunsches einer halben Portion eine HB Flying V geholt und dann selber nicht mehr aus der Hand gelegt (Remeber the Scorps). Jetzt lief mir die schöne Epi über den Weg, der ich nicht widerstehen konnte. Ich komme auch sitzend gut zurecht, zurück zur Klassikgitarren-Haltung und es funzt super!

Und natürlich nette Vs - Super anzuschauen wie auch Explorer etc., aber man ditscht überall an damit. Ein Bekannter hatte 'ne RR-V und ruckzuck Türrahmentreffer. Danach auch back to "runde Gitarre".

Naja, bei mir ist auch nicht alles eitel Sonnenschein mit der Dame... sie zickt beim Saitenwechsel.
Die Strat leg ich mir auf den Oberschenkel und rödel das mal eben durch, bei der V habe ich gestern schon was länger gebraucht... !

Endlich gibt´s einen flying V thread
@badguitarplayer : Da gehwöhnt man sich dran , so schlimm ist es ja nicht , Floyd Rose ist der wahre horror

Das ist sie ... hab sie mir selbst zum 50. (silbernen) Geburtstag gekauft letzten Dezember , nach zwei stunden Probespielen (kann mich nicht erinnern je solange eine gitarre getestet zu haben aber der kaffee in dem laden war zu gut )
Ich bin sehr glücklich mit dem Modell , die verarbeitung ist TOP ..und sie fühlt sich beim spielen eher wie etwas teuereres an ,auch die Bünde sind perfekt abgerundet .

So, habe mich heute entschieden den Gurtpin am Hals, Richtung Halsfußmitte, zu versetzen. Irgendwie stört mich die Kopflastigkeit doch. Der zweite Grund ist, dass der Pin eh schon ausgeleiert ist und sich nicht mehr fixieren lässt.

Welche Saitenstärke hast Du denn oben?

Das lustige ist dass ich beim letzten Mastodonkonzert (GEIL!) 5 meter von Bill Kelliher stand und B.Hinds auf der anderen seite der Stage , so musste ich die neue ESP bewunderrn (nein nein , keine angst , ich steh darüber ..)
ich hab da noch die 010-46 drauf und einen halben ton tiefer momentan , bei Standard -D ist es zu schlabberig und Brents Saitenstärke wollte ich zwar draufmachen , muss aber erst den Nut anpasse lassen btw. einen
Knochensattel drauf

Ich habe mir vor ein paar Wochen eine Brent Hinds angelacht. Leider waren die Bünde nicht geschliffen, die Gitarre in den hohen Lagen schlicht nicht spielbar. Dann ist noch eine Flying V 58 Korina nach einem halben Jahr Wartezeit angekommen. Bridge falsch eingebaut und unspielbar. Die Brent Hinds hat mir mein Gitarrenbauer dann zurechtgebogen. Die Korina ging zurück und wurde ausgetauscht. Beide Gitarren würden eigentlich echt Spass machen. Aber die QUalitätskontrolle ist unter aller Kanone. Als ich den Gibson/Epi-Support das Problem mit der Brent Hinds schilderte, wollten sie erst Fotos vom Headstock (von vorne und hinten) haben. Dann behaupteten sie, dass die Seriennummer falsch sei. Erst nach zweitem Nachfragen, meinte man, dass könne halt passieren, bei so langen Transportwegen. Ach ja... die Bünde werden beim Transport wieder aufgerauht?? Crazy.
Die Flyings haben so viel Mojo...aber Epiphone hat irgendwo ein Problem. Hatte schon mit der Firebird Joe Bonamassa Probleme. Ich bin irgendwo gerade ein wenig "geheilt" von der Marke.

Also ich kann über meine Korina nicht meckern, hier passt alles. Es gibt natürlich immer Ausfälle, wohl auch was die B. Hinds betrifft. Gibt einige Unboxing-Videos auf YT, wo es auch einige Mängel gibt. Die Bewertungen auf Thomann sind ähnlich, hier und da wurde nochmal umgetauscht.
Momentan ist der Preis auch um 130,-€ gestiegen..., ich kann aber nicht urteilen, da ich sie noch nicht in der Hand hatte.

Der Preis für die Brent Hinds V hat sich wieder auf den ursprünglichen Wert eingependelt.

Wie schon oben erwähnt, habe ich heute dann endlich mal den Gurtpin versetzt. Ich bin mit der Kopflastigkeit doch nicht so gut zurecht gekommen. Der Pin war bisher oberhalb des Halses an der Korpusaußenseite angebracht. Die V zog dabei direkt über die Kopfplatte Richtung Boden und man musste etwas Gegendruck beim spielen erzeugen. Zu nervig für mich.

Ich habe den Pin jetzt, wie bei den älteren Modellen, auf die Rückseite in Höhe der Halsmitte versetzt, dazu noch einen Ledergurt und Security Locks. Was soll ich sagen, ein Unterschied wie Tag und Nacht. Alleine am Ledergurt kann es nicht liegen, das hatte ich vor dem umsetzen schon getestet.

Wahrscheinlich reichen diese paar Zentimeter Versatz aus, um den Umschwungwinkel so zu verändern, das die Gitte einfach da bleibt, wo sie ist. Also ich bin zufrieden.

Die Optik ist Geschmackssache, aber ansonsten ziemlich gut bestückt... Killswitch, splittbare Humbucker, good price,
die geht auch für Blues, ...muss aber nicht !

Würde mich wundern, wenn die nicht (auch) um die 900-1000€ kostet....
