Dear Gary,
this is my deepest excuse about me having you in the cliché of being just a prol-/mainstream posing guitarist, whos only message is endless noodling without any own style and message.
The origin of this thinking was when my musical taste went off from Rock and over to Indie in the late 80ies, discovering Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., and others. Maybe connected with the fact that in this phase you also went a bit into the direction described above (taken from your great interview in the recently issued "Les Paul Handbook II" from Guitarist Magazine.
I always was a big fan of Thin Lizzy, and I am just listening to Blues for Greeny, Blues for Jimy and similar of your recordings and live videos in youtube.
How could I be so wrong. Also I did not now about your close relationship with Peter Green (beyond owning Greeny) for a long time.
And now recently I (re-)discovered, how inspired and soulful (aka bluesful) your playing was. (technically far beyond perfect, anyway.) And what a sensitive and sensible human being you were.
May you live forever.
(haltet mich alle für verrückt hier; aber ich musste das mal loswerden und leider habe ich niemanden, dem ich es erzählen könnte und der mir nur annähernd folgen könnte
